While our ambitions are huge and our support comes merely at the grassroots level, we do have quite outrageous outsized dreams. We dream of building a community worthy of emulation. One that is based on fun, community, good health, competition, and mutual respect. Join us in fostering a strong beach tennis community by volunteering your time to make a difference on the sand!
Our Open Volunteer "Angel" Positions
Tournament Scorekeeper
Photographer
Number needed: 3
Position Type: UNPAID
Time Commitment: 2 hours every other week. Must be willing to commit for at least 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Take pictures at weekly beach tennis meetups and upload to designated shared site. Photographers to coordinate among themselves to ensure that someone can be there to take pictures. Ideally, you are a regular beach tennis player and you are present on at least 40% of meet ups.
Website Administrator
Number needed: 1
Position Type: PAID
Time Commitment: 2 hours per week. Must be willing to commit for at least 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Update the Singapore Beach Tennis website with pictures from each weekend’s play. Collate the data gathered from subscriber registration to add to database as well as event registration forms and email them to BT organizing committee.
Number needed: 3
Position Type: UNPAID
Time Commitment: Must be present 30 mins before each tournament and must stay at the event until event closure.
Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for storing and transporting the score board. Each scorekeeper must keep time and score the matches and call out the fouls.
Weekday Play Coordinators
Number needed: 3 (Pasir Ris, West Coast Park, Stadium)
Position Type: UNPAID, but as a volunteer you play for free!
Time Commitment: You must be available to attend most (90%) of the fixed weekday play dates. Must be willing to commit to stay in this role for at least 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Issue reminders each week to roster of regular players, assign players to nets if more than one net is set up, organize transportation of nets and other equipment to site of play, and ensure upkeep and proper storage of equipment.
Social Coordinators
Number needed: 2 (for ECP and Siloso Beach)
Position Type: UNPAID, but as a volunteer you play for free!
Time Commitment: You must be available to attend most (90%) of the fixed weekday play dates. Must be willing to commit to stay in this role for at least 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Communicate on beach tennis WhatsApp chat group to organize the social group dinner after afternoon play, choose group dinner location and bring speakers to play music during play.
